Who is behind Englishisin? Englishisin has been created and developed by Alex Roe (picture on the left). Alex has been teaching English to Italians for around ten years. He knows just how difficult it can be to learn a new language and he created this site to make the process easier. How can Englishisin help learners? This site aims to provide learners with up-to-date links to useful resources all over the World Wide Web. It will also provide users with tips as to how to get the most out of the web in terms of learning English. How is the site going to develop?Alex works just about full time teaching and runs a number of successful English language courses which he planned and implemented for a major Italian business school, so the answer is slowly. However, the overall aim is to produce a site which points its users at material which will help them develop their ability to use English. Links to a wide variety of news sources have already been provided, so most people should be able to find something that interests them. Another aim is to make this site into a resource for those looking to work outside Italy. Who built this site? Alex Roe. Well, the layout and content are his, obviously with the exception of RSS items and the external sites which are linked to. The Joomla! CMS makes tying everything together a lot easier than messing around with masses of HTML files. Alex would never define himself as an expert web developer, but he does know how to find the tools necessary to get a job done. Englishisin hopes you find the result of his labours interesting and useful. AdvertisingIn order to help with the operating costs of this site Google's Adsense ads will run on certain pages. The adverts have been set up to link to products and services that visitors to this site may find useful, so they should not detract from the value of the content. Banner advertisments will also be shown on certain pages. Please use the Contact system to contact Alex Roe in order to discuss any other advertising proposals. What browser should I use to view the site? This site works best in Firefox 1.5.0.4+ and is OK in IE6/7. It has not been tested in Opera or Safari. PIE seems to chop the top image up, although the reason for this is not clear. Feedback on browser compatibility would be appreciated. I have a suggestion. Do you want to hear it?If it's polite and constructive, most definitely. Use the Contact system to drop Englishisin a mail. I'd like to contribute an article. Wonderful! Let Alex know how you would like to contribute and why you think your article will make Englishisin better. Contributions in either Italian or English are most welcome.
